PRC photo size
- 2 × 2 inch, JPG. The upload screen lets you crop too, and this gives you the right square to start from.
- No file size limit is stated.
Rules for the PRC photo
- In colour, on a plain white background, taken within the last 6 months.
- Collared or corporate attire. No sleeveless tops.
- Full face, looking straight at the camera. No eyeglasses and no shadows.
- A hijab is fine if your whole face, chin to forehead, is visible.
- AI-generated photos are rejected. EditSpec only crops, resizes and compresses. It never changes your face or background, so the photo stays as it was taken.
For exam day, the PRC also asks for 4 printed passport-size photos with a complete name tag on a white background.
Rules checked in October 2026 from the PRC LERIS online manual (v8, 27 August 2026) (opens in a new tab). They can change with each new notice, so check the current one before you apply.
